TÜV NORD's history began over 130 years ago as "Dampfkesselüberwachungs-Verein"
when it was responsible for inspecting steam boilers. Today the
field of steam and pressure technology not only encompasses steam
boilers, but also other pressure
vessel installations, gas cylinders and filling facilities, plus
installations for storing combustible liquids. A further subject of
interest here is the correct handle of water-polluting substances.
Our major customers and range of services in these fields are
wide-ranging. For example, we serve private house-owners in
connection with fuel oil storage tanks, diving clubs with respect to
compressed air diving gear, hospitals when it comes to sterilisation
apparatus, and of course industry with its steam boilers and
pressure vessels, right through to large process engineering plants
in the chemicals sector.
